What did you do the keep the display on while having the traction off? In my Yaris I have coming up the pop-up message of the traction control overlapping the display!

Great job! It would have been best to have cleaned the pad seats and pins better. Ideally, the pads and pins slide freely into the caliper. Anyway, I have done some similar pad swaps on track without following my advice and haven't had any squeaks or rattles. Trust me, the GR Yaris is not over-braked for track. The brakes are large, and heat soak pretty well for the first couple of minutes. Unfortunately, the cooling is insufficient despite the front ducts.

Wouldn’t it have been easier to spray the panels with water so you could move the wrap easier?

Interesting what u say about the gearbox oil, when mine goes in next at Toyota I might supply my own oils, I know them really well at bromsgrove, mine has done 27k now, due a service in October, probably only done 3k since last one🚗💨 Keep up the good work mate do like your vids. Love the vid, but I think Toyota are cheap, I know it’s every 6months tho, who stamps the service book? These cars are special and I wouldn’t buy one without dealer stamp. I can see both sides though, just a personal opinion 🚗💨

Don't you have to do the servicing at Toyota to have the extended 10 year warranty?

Thanks for the video mate. I'm struggling with the seat height on my car as I find it difficult to find a good position with the leading edge of the seat and the pedals. I figure a lower position will solve that. Will have to get one of these kits.

With regard to price, everything has increased a lot recently. I just ordered a C-HR WITH 2 litre and plug in and a few extras and that was £45 before a brilliant Carwow inspired discount bringing it back down to £42k and the stupid part is that paying extra for the plug in to give more green credentials has put me into a wealth tax VED for I believe 4 years. My advice is if you can afford to tickle your fancy go for it. The wife has a 6 year old C-HR which cost £30k in 2018 and she has agreed that if I can get my hands on the new GR Yaris automatic I should go for it and she will sell hers ant take over the plug in. Got to do it before it is to late

You said you serviced the car yourself, so does that mean you lost the annual warranty after the 3 years, as you have not had the dealer service the car, if so could be a false economy All very interesting as I am considering the revised 2024 with the auto box and chopping in my I Pace

Thanks for sharing. Another interesting video and I appreciate your attention to detail on the costs. So many of them can be hidden or forgotten about! I've had my Yaris for nearly a year. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase it outright, although, being late to the party, had to buy a second hand one at the "then" market value, which then, was more than the original list price....! Ho hum!!! Anyway, I've not spent much on mods (some RallyFlapz and stickers...) :-) And a CTEK Trickle Charger (mine's a weekend car so want to keep the battery topped up). Done about 900 miles over the last year, so fuel costs probably about £230 (average 29mpg @ £7.30/gallon), road tax £180 and insurance £400 (I'm a bit older!!!), so total running cost and mods somewhere around just over £1100 for 900 miles = £1.23/mile!!! May be of "interest", but had I left the money in the bank, I'd have earned around £1800 interest over the year (yes, I paid north of £36k for a '22 plate Circuit Pack in Scarlet Flare... Although the first service had been done, so there's £190 back!!!) so that puts the cost up to just over £3.20/mile... 😱 Depreciation on the car? Maybe £4k. I'd hoped it would hold it's value but, realistically, they have dropped in the last 12 months (Although there is a 72 plate Scarlet Flare Circuit Pack with 106 mls @ £38,995 on eBay just now, so maybe £4k depreciation is too much!). I'll have the second service cost and tax to come. Plan some mods as well (SW Motorsports seat kit to start. Would love an Eventuri intake (£££!!!) and an uprated exhaust... We'll see. Anyway, we are at around £7.66/mile.... Or just under £7k for the year. Was it worth it for the GR Yaris experience.... 😊😊😊😊 ABSOLUTELY!!! Cheers, Ross.

I am considering an Evolution 9 for sometime next year and your break down of the running costs gave me a lot to consider. Thanks for the video, I may still go for it because like you said - cars are my drug!

Be aware the new bolts that point up are way too long and one will press against the plastic next to the seat height adjustment and dint the plastic, another presses near one of the metal parts. Big bolts are to replace the front 2 torx bits if you slide the seat all the way forward they catch. and if you reuse the front plastic covers on the seat rail (for a neater look) the corners of the slider handle will need to be trimmed otherwise they chew into them and they eventually break. Spacer shop spacer finished off the package perfect.

Another great video! Thanks for sharing. I did wonder how you got round sorting the TPMS valves when swapping wheels. Did you swap out the original TPMS valves into the white wheels when you fitted them? I'd like to have 2 sets of wheels for my Yaris, keeping the OEM wheels and tyres for the winter and a tasty set of gold 5 or 6 spokes with sticky Nankangs for the summer....!
